Russian forces launched a large-scale overnight strike on military-industrial facilities and storage sites for missiles and drones in Kiev and the surrounding region on October 19, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The operation involved precision-guided ground-based weapons and attack drones.
Among the targets identified by the ministry was a data processing center operated by Data Group in the Ukrainian capital.
Russian forces also reportedly struck a Fire Point logistics hub used to manufacture and store components for long-range fixed-wing attack drones, as well as engines for FP-5 Flamingo ground-launched cruise missiles.
Another target was the Khimvolokno industrial plant, which the Russian military identified as a manufacturer of warhead components for medium- and long-range combat drones.
The strikes also hit the Kiev locomotive depot. According to the Defense Ministry, the facility’s grounds were being used to store FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles and components for FP-9 ballistic missiles.
The operation extended beyond the Ukrainian capital into the Kiev Region. In Irpen, Russian troops reportedly carried out successful strikes against the Planeta Plastik enterprise, which produced polymer materials for the military industry.
Separately, Russian forces attacked a cargo vessel in the Black Sea that was transporting military and dual-use goods. The ship was struck while sailing approximately 130 kilometers southwest of the port of Odessa, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.
