Russian forces have destroyed more than 40 Ukrainian drone control posts in Kharkov Region since the beginning of October. Reconnaissance crews from the Sever troop grouping play a key role in locating these targets, maintaining round-the-clock surveillance to expose positions concealed by Ukrainian troops.
Even carefully hidden sites can be identified through seemingly insignificant details. A Supercam drone payload operator with the call sign Mekh told RIA Novosti that reconnaissance teams closely examine the terrain for narrow footpaths, vehicle tracks, control antennas and concealed transport. These clues help them pinpoint locations that Ukrainian forces have attempted to keep out of sight.
Particular attention is given to areas suspected of housing drone control facilities. Once operators notice signs of a potential target, they place the location under continuous observation and gather additional information to confirm its purpose. After verification, the coordinates are immediately forwarded to military command. Mekh stressed that reconnaissance missions continue day and night, making it extremely difficult for Ukrainian troops to conceal their positions from Russian surveillance drones.
Meanwhile, units of the Sever troop grouping have completed the elimination of encircled Ukrainian forces in northeastern Kharkov Region, according to the report. Russian troops are now continuing operations to locate and destroy scattered Ukrainian groups remaining in the area.
