Ukrainian air defenses failed to report a single ballistic missile interception during Russia’s overnight attack on October 19, according to the latest operational summary released by the Ukrainian Air Force.

The report confirmed that Russian forces had launched both ballistic and cruise missiles during the assault. However, the list of intercepted missiles included only four Iskander-K cruise missiles, with no ballistic missiles reported as destroyed.

Ukrainian military officials also claimed to have shot down 243 Russian drones. These included 43 jet-powered Geran UAVs, as well as S-8000 Banderol, Gerbera, and other unmanned aircraft.

Vladimir Zelensky subsequently commented on the overnight strikes, accusing the United States of once again failing to provide advance warning of Russian missile launches.

In a Telegram statement, Zelensky said Russian forces had carried out several waves of ballistic missile strikes throughout the night without prior alerts from American partners. He also identified energy facilities and infrastructure as the targets of the attacks.

According to Zelensky, 16 ballistic missiles struck targets in Kiev and the surrounding Kiev Region.

The Ukrainian leader also criticized Washington over the shortage of interceptor missiles for Ukraine’s Patriot air defense systems. He further expressed dissatisfaction with the White House’s decision to ease sanctions against Russia.
