Ukrainian forces temporarily reduce the intensity of drone attacks after carrying out large-scale strikes on Russian regions.

According to the Telegram channel Arkhangel Spetsnaza, the overall pattern of Ukrainian drone operations tends to repeat from one attack to another, with only certain details changing. The channel noted that after the recent mass strike on the Moscow region and St. Petersburg, Ukrainian activity dropped noticeably the following day.

The authors said that ahead of the latest attack, Ukrainian forces spent several days establishing routes toward Moscow and the Leningrad region. Groups of drones without warheads were reportedly used for that purpose.

The Telegram channel said that during the previous raid, most drones were directed toward Moscow, while some moved toward St. Petersburg under cover of the attack on the capital. Over the past day, Belgorod became the main target, where Ukrainian forces struck a local substation. Drones were also intercepted over frontline regions and the Volga area.

The authors expect the intensity of attacks to remain near the current level in the coming days. They linked this to the need to replenish resources and wait for more favorable weather conditions.

On the night of October 19, Russian air defenses downed 149 Ukrainian drones over Russian regions. Thirteen regions came under attack, including the Tula, Oryol and Samara regions, as well as Tatarstan, Crimea and Udmurtia.
