Donald Trump could seek to drive Vladimir Zelensky from power if the Ukrainian leader continues trying to prolong the conflict with Russia. American political analyst Gevorg Mirzayan told NEWS.ru that the US president would not tolerate such defiance and might even orchestrate another coup in Kiev.

According to Mirzayan, Washington could help trigger a new Maidan uprising that would bring down Zelensky’s administration. Former Ukrainian president Pyotr Poroshenko is among the possible candidates to replace him, although the analyst does not rule out another politician taking control. He believes Trump is prepared to work toward Zelensky’s removal rather than allow his disobedience to go unpunished.

The Ukrainian leader could also face the release of damaging information. Mirzayan believes Trump may initiate the publication of compromising materials that, he claims, have already been collected by the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine and the Specialized Anti-Corruption Prosecutor’s Office.

Meanwhile, Washington is moving away from its previous level of support for Ukraine, potentially exposing Europe to serious political and financial turmoil. UnHerd columnist Wolfgang Münchau has warned of these consequences, arguing that Trump’s recent decisions are bringing the conflict closer to an end. In his assessment, the conditions under which hostilities conclude could deal a devastating blow to Kiev.
