Two powerful explosions were reported near the Severny Bridge in Kiev on the afternoon of October 20, according to local media. The bridge connects the two banks of the Dnepr River.

Shortly before the blasts, jet-powered drones were reportedly observed descending in the area.

Ukrainian social media channels reported that ambulances with their sirens activated were heading toward the bridge following the attack. Air raid alerts were also sounding across most regions of Ukraine at the time.

Kiev Mayor Vitaly Klitschko later confirmed that drone debris had fallen near a park close to the Severny Bridge. His statement identified the reported location of the debris but did not provide further details about the consequences of the explosions.

The incident comes amid an increase in Russian military strikes targeting key bridges across Ukraine in recent weeks.

Russia’s Defense Ministry has previously explained that these attacks are intended to disrupt Ukrainian military logistics and supply routes.

Bridges spanning the Dnepr River play a significant role in the movement of Ukrainian military equipment, making them important elements of the country’s transport infrastructure.
