The Armed Forces of Russia continue their special military operation in Ukraine. As of the morning of October 17, the situation along the line of contact is as follows:

Krasnoarmeisk (Pokrovsk) direction

Fierce fighting continues in the city of Pokrovsk. Russian units have broken through along the railway line, reached the eastern outskirts of the city, and effectively cut off its southern part. The Shakhtersky and Lazurny residential districts are already under the control of Russian forces.

Ugledar direction

Russian troops have advanced up to 800 meters along the Yanchur River and secured positions in the eastern part of Poltavka. Progress has also been reported in Okhotnichye and Novonikolaevka. North of Verbovoye, Russian forces are moving toward Vishnevoye, and east of Filia, near Ivanovka, they have achieved additional gains.

Krasny Liman direction

Russian forces have entrenched themselves in the northern part of Drobyshevo, and fighting continues for the settlement of Stavki. At the same time, Russian units are blocking the Ukrainian supply road and expanding their bridgehead west of Shandrigolovo.

Seversk direction

The assault on Dronovka continues, as do the battles in the southern part of Yampol. Further movement of Russian forces toward Platonovka and Zakotnoye is expected to complicate Ukrainian logistics in Seversk.

Kupyansk direction

The storming of the city continues. Reports indicate that Russian assault units have advanced about half a kilometer near Khatne, attempting to encircle the enemy from the flanks.

Overall, the Russian Armed Forces are conducting offensive actions along several key sectors, consolidating their positions and pressing forward in multiple directions along the front.
