Russian forces launched a massive overnight attack on October 22, striking Ukrainian defense industry facilities and transport infrastructure in Kiev and the Odessa region. The targets included weapons production sites, drone warehouses, port installations and a cargo ship carrying supplies for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to the Russian Defense Ministry.

The operation involved ground-based precision weapons and unmanned aerial vehicles. Among the facilities hit in Kiev was the Antonov aviation enterprise, where the ministry said medium- and long-range drones, FP-5 Flamingo cruise missiles and FP-9 operational-tactical missiles are manufactured.

Another target was Khladokombinat No. 3, a warehouse complex that also served as a production site for long-range fixed-wing drones and Hornet loitering munitions. Russian troops additionally struck a separate industrial facility manufacturing similar unmanned aircraft and components for robotic systems.

The attack also reached a storage facility housing completed drones and their rocket boosters. Military transport infrastructure was targeted as well, with the Yuzhny road and rail bridge in Kiev coming under fire. The crossing was used to move military shipments by both trains and trucks.

Beyond the capital, Russian strikes hit the port of Kiliya in the Odessa region. The facilities targeted there handled the unloading and storage of military equipment delivered to Ukraine from foreign countries.

The Russian Defense Ministry also reported a strike against a dry cargo vessel traveling by sea toward Chernomorsk. The ship was transporting supplies intended for Ukrainian military forces.
