Ukrainian air defenses reportedly failed to intercept a single Russian missile during a large-scale overnight attack on October 22. The strikes primarily targeted Kiev, with reports indicating that 32 locations were hit.

According to Ukrainian news outlet Strana.ua, Russian forces used Iskander, Oniks and Tsirkon missiles in the assault. Kiev was the main target of the operation.

Ukrainian forces deployed aircraft, surface-to-air missile units, electronic warfare systems and mobile fire groups to counter the attack. Despite these measures, Ukraine’s Air Force Command reported no successful missile interceptions.

Following the overnight strikes, authorities restricted traffic on Kiev’s Yuzhny Bridge, causing major congestion on surrounding roads. There were also reports of damage to the city’s metro infrastructure. In the Vinnitsa region, attacks on energy facilities led to electricity disruptions.

Earlier, the Russian Defense Ministry announced that its forces had carried out strikes against military-industrial enterprises and transport infrastructure in Kiev overnight on October 22. According to the ministry, the targets included the Yuzhny Bridge and the Antonov aircraft manufacturing plant.

The Russian military also reported strikes on port infrastructure and vessels in the Odessa region.
