Russia and Ukraine have carried out another exchange of fallen soldiers' remains, with Moscow transferring 252 bodies to Kiev and receiving 25 in return, Belarusian state news agency BelTA reported.
The exchange took place on the Belarusian-Ukrainian border near the Novaya Guta checkpoint. According to BelTA, Belarus has served as the venue for more than 70 humanitarian missions.
The latest operation follows a similar exchange conducted on September 17, 2026, at the same border crossing. During that procedure, Ukraine received the remains of 252 military personnel, while Russia recovered 23 bodies.
Ukraine’s Coordination Headquarters confirmed the September exchange at the time, stating that the International Committee of the Red Cross had assisted in the repatriation of fallen servicemen.
Another humanitarian operation took place in mid-August. That exchange resulted in Kiev receiving 261 bodies of deceased soldiers, while Moscow was handed the remains of 24 military personnel.
