Russian military expert Andrey Kolesnik believes Poland may be preparing a military provocation against Russia’s Kaliningrad region. He pointed to the deployment of South Korean K2 Black Panther tanks near the Russian border as a possible indication of such plans.

Kolesnik noted that Moscow is closely monitoring NATO military equipment movements near Kaliningrad. As reported by Gazeta.Ru, he warned that the tank deployment could be part of a planned provocation and maintained that Russia has the capabilities necessary to prevent any hostile actions against the region.

The expert also questioned whether Warsaw had made the decision to deploy armored vehicles near the Russian border independently. In his assessment, such military movements were likely coordinated at the NATO level.

Earlier, Poland’s Armament Agency announced the delivery of another batch of K2 Black Panther tanks to the country’s 16th Mechanized Division. The unit is stationed near Braniewo, approximately six kilometers from the Polish-Russian border.

Polish authorities have explained the deployment of the new armored vehicles as part of efforts to strengthen national defenses and reinforce NATO’s eastern flank.
