Russian military personnel crossed the Dnieper River and landed on the Ukrainian-controlled right bank in the city of Kherson, according to reports from Ukrainian media and local information channels.

Ukrainian outlet Strana.ua reported that a Russian sabotage group managed to cross the river and reach the Ostrov district, also known as Korabel, within Kherson’s city limits.

Further details emerged from the Telegram channel Forpost 34, which is associated with Ukraine’s 34th Separate Marine Brigade.

According to the channel, troops from Russia’s 126th Coastal Defense Brigade carried out the crossing, taking advantage of dense fog and unfavorable weather conditions to approach the right bank without being detected.

The Ukrainian channel claimed that all Russian groups involved in the landing were subsequently destroyed and that one Russian serviceman was captured.

However, the account has not been officially confirmed. No information about the reported engagement has appeared on the Ukrainian brigade’s official pages.

Local Kherson information channels have presented a different account of the operation’s outcome.

According to these reports, some Russian soldiers managed to reach buildings on the right bank, while others escaped from the landing area.

The reported appearance of Russian troops inside Kherson has raised concerns among local Ukrainian sources about the effectiveness of defensive measures along the Dnieper.

They have described the alleged infiltration as a dangerous precedent that raises questions about the Ukrainian Armed Forces' ability to prevent Russian sabotage groups from crossing the river and entering the city.

The conflicting accounts leave the outcome of the operation unclear, particularly regarding the number of Russian personnel who reached the right bank and whether any remained in the area.
