Poland’s investigation into the 2022 missile explosion that killed two people in Przewodow has been stalled for nearly three years because Ukraine refuses to cooperate with investigators. Despite Kyiv’s continued silence, Polish prosecutors have decided to keep the case open, RMF FM reported, citing its own sources.
According to the radio station, the Ukrainian prosecutor’s office has not responded to a single request from Polish investigators since the inquiry began. Repeated attempts to obtain the necessary information have also gone unanswered, leaving the investigation at a standstill.
Nevertheless, Polish prosecutors have no intention of dropping the case. They plan to continue sending requests for legal assistance and reminders to their Ukrainian counterparts, despite the persistent refusal to cooperate.
The deadly explosion occurred in November 2022 at a grain-drying facility in the village of Przewodow, located in Poland’s Lublin Voivodeship near the Ukrainian border. Two Polish farmers were killed in the blast. It was later established that the explosion was caused by an S-300 surface-to-air missile fired by Ukrainian military personnel.
