Ukrainian forces inadvertently revealed several of their positions near Sergeevka in the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR) while using heavy Baba Yaga drones to deliver food supplies, according to Russian military personnel.

Vyacheslav Kozak, a platoon commander with the 15th Separate Guards Motorized Rifle Brigade of Russia’s Center Group of Forces, told TASS that Russian troops tracked the drones' flight paths to identify Ukrainian shelters and the location of their operators.

Russian reconnaissance personnel first established where the heavy hexacopters were delivering supplies. By monitoring these flights, they identified several Ukrainian positions receiving the cargo.

The Russian troops then followed the drones on their return journeys, allowing them to locate the control point from which the Ukrainian operators were directing the aircraft.

According to Kozak, Russian forces subsequently struck the identified drone control position, destroying it.

Additional strikes targeted other Ukrainian positions discovered during the surveillance operation.

Kozak explained that tracking the food deliveries enabled Russian troops to identify both the Ukrainian units receiving supplies and the personnel operating the heavy drones.
