Lithuanian developers have unveiled a new interceptor drone called the X-12, designed to counter Russia’s jet-powered Geran-5 UAVs. According to Ukrainian sources, the system is intended for deployment by the Ukrainian military.

The X-12 has reportedly already undergone testing under real combat conditions in Ukraine, receiving positive assessments. Lithuania now plans to establish serial production of the interceptor and begin supplying it to Ukrainian forces.

According to its developers, the drone is equipped with a turbojet engine capable of reaching speeds of up to 700 kilometers per hour. It has a maximum flight range of 126 kilometers and can intercept aerial targets at altitudes of up to 10 kilometers. However, its flight endurance is limited to 12 minutes.

The Lithuanian developers claim that the X-12 currently has no direct equivalents. They explained that they had anticipated Russia’s transition toward jet-powered drones and developed their technology in parallel with those changes.

The project’s creators also highlighted two priorities behind the X-12’s development: making the interceptor cheaper than Russia’s Geran drones and eliminating dependence on Chinese-made components.

The new interceptor has also reportedly been offered to Lithuania’s Ministry of Defense.
