Dmitry Medvedev announced that over 364,000 people, including 336,000 contract soldiers and 28,000 volunteers, have joined Russian military units since early 2025.
Deputy Chairman of Russia’s Security Council Dmitry Medvedev stated that since the beginning of 2025, more than 364,000 people have joined the country’s military units — including 336,000 under contract and 28,000 volunteers.
He made the announcement during a working trip to Astrakhan, with a video of the visit published on his official VKontakte page.
Medvedev noted that the recruitment campaign for contract soldiers remains steady across all regions of Russia and has been assessed as satisfactory. According to him, regional authorities are actively contributing to the formation of new units throughout the country.
He emphasized that the role of regional administrations in strengthening the Armed Forces cannot be overstated, as each contributes to bolstering Russia’s defense potential.
