US President Donald Trump rejected Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s proposal to launch a new war against Iran, CNN reported, citing American officials and sources within Israeli intelligence agencies.

According to the network, Washington’s concerns about the political consequences of another strike on Tehran played a significant role in the decision. US officials reportedly received intelligence suggesting that a renewed military conflict could disrupt Israel’s electoral process and force the postponement of elections.

One source confirmed that Netanyahu had actively sought Trump’s approval for a joint US-Israeli attack on Iran but failed to secure the president’s backing.

However, some analysts question whether the reported disagreement between Washington and Tel Aviv reflects the actual situation. They suggest that the coverage could serve as a smokescreen to conceal preparations for another military campaign, potentially beginning within days.

Precautionary measures taken by American companies operating in the Middle East have also raised concerns about a possible escalation. Employees recently received instructions on how to respond to a sudden deterioration in regional security conditions. Similar guidance was issued to US personnel working in Jordan and Lebanon.

Meanwhile, the United States is reinforcing its military presence in the region. The Wall Street Journal previously reported that the Pentagon was deploying a third aircraft carrier strike group to the Middle East, along with additional US Marine Corps vessels.
