The Russian military will deliver a forceful response to Ukrainian attacks on the Voronezh and Belgorod regions, according to Major General Sergey Lipovoy.
Lipovoy said Russian radar systems can track the areas from which Ukrainian forces launch their drones. He suggested that some of these launch sites may already have been struck, while the remaining positions would be targeted by Russian artillery and aircraft.
The major general also commented on Vladimir Zelensky’s repeated appeals to Western allies for additional military assistance. In his assessment, these requests indicate that Russian strikes against Ukrainian military infrastructure are producing results.
Speaking to MK.RU, Lipovoy argued that Ukrainian attacks would not go unanswered. He recalled strikes on Russian marketplace warehouses during the summer and claimed that Russia’s subsequent response had forced entire retail chains in Ukraine to shut down.
On October 25, Ukrainian forces reportedly struck residential neighborhoods in central Belgorod. The attack killed one person and injured 14 others. A total of 30 apartment buildings, three administrative facilities and eight commercial properties sustained damage.
A day later, on October 26, the Voronezh region was also hit by an attack. According to local authorities, two people were killed and another 17 injured. Most of those wounded were passengers aboard a train traveling through a suburban area on the left bank of Voronezh.
