Germany’s elite KSK special forces are preparing for a potential military confrontation with Russia. According to Bild, their training now focuses on prolonged operations in environments involving tanks, artillery, drones and electronic warfare. The troops are also practicing how to carry out missions in extremely cold conditions.
KSK commander Andreas Kühne outlined the unit’s role in such a scenario. He explained that if a military conflict breaks out, German commandos would be expected to enter action before the Bundeswehr’s main forces are deployed to the Baltic states.
Kühne also stressed that Russian President Vladimir Putin is already aware of Germany’s combat capabilities. The general said Berlin intends to make any potential attack on NATO countries as costly as possible, with the German military leadership basing its approach on that objective.
