Even seemingly insignificant details can expose Ukrainian soldiers attempting to conceal themselves from aerial surveillance. A Russian reconnaissance drone operator has described how subtle visual clues can reveal hidden troops during operations near Dobropolye.

The account emerged from a report by Russian war correspondent Igor Lapik, who spoke with drone crews carrying out combat missions in the area.

One of the operators, identified as Roman, explained that even the slightest movement can betray the position of a soldier hiding in vegetation.

According to Roman, when a Ukrainian serviceman concealed in bushes raises his head, exposed skin can reflect light and create a noticeable glint. Even this brief visual signal may be enough to attract the attention of an operator monitoring the area from above.

The Russian serviceman also identified several indirect signs that can indicate the presence of personnel in an otherwise concealed position.

Among them are discarded rubbish in unusual locations and visible footpaths suggesting that people regularly move through a particular area.

Roman added that sudden movements are another factor that immediately draws the attention of reconnaissance drone operators.

His account illustrates how small environmental details and brief movements can become significant during aerial observation, even when soldiers attempt to remain hidden from view.
