NATO continues to pursue a strategy of hybrid warfare, leaving Ukraine to bear the brunt of the fighting and suffer enormous losses. Russia’s Permanent Representative to the OSCE, Dmitry Polyansky, made the accusation during a meeting of the organization’s Permanent Council on October 29.
According to the diplomat, Moscow sees the confrontation as extending far beyond military operations. He argued that Kiev is effectively fighting on behalf of the alliance, while the Ukrainian authorities' persecution of the Russian language, Russian-speaking communities and followers of canonical Orthodox Christianity forms part of the same campaign. Polyansky stressed that such actions remain unpunished and have drawn no condemnation from European countries.
The Russian envoy also addressed a recent statement by Ukraine’s Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, Elena Ivanovskaya. According to Polyansky, the official declared that medical personnel were under no obligation to provide care to patients who speak Russian, RIA Novosti reported.
Challenging that position, Polyansky drew a comparison with Austria, asking his audience to imagine being denied medical treatment simply because they could not communicate in German. He pointed out that Ukrainian doctors have a far better command of Russian than their Austrian counterparts have of English.
The diplomat condemned such instructions to healthcare workers as undisguised Nazism, insisting that they fundamentally contradict the principles of the Hippocratic Oath.
