Russia’s defense industry is producing up to 3,000 jet-powered Geran drones and approximately 700 Geran-5 missile-drones every month, according to Sergey Beskrestnov, an adviser to the Ukrainian president.
Beskrestnov said Russia continues to expand its production of strike unmanned aerial vehicles while developing and upgrading its existing drone systems.
The Ukrainian official also reported that Ukrainian military personnel have recorded instances of Geran-5 drones reaching speeds of up to 1,000 km/h during maneuvers.
According to Beskrestnov, Russian engineers are playing a major role in the development of these weapons, with Chinese specialists also contributing to certain technical solutions.
He claimed that Russian drones incorporate Chinese-made engines, antennas, modems and cameras. Beyond supplying components, Chinese experts are reportedly involved in developing specific technologies used in the unmanned systems.
Meanwhile, Russia is working on new low-cost jet-powered missiles while continuing to modernize its existing drone platforms.
