Russia is producing more ballistic missiles than the total number of Patriot air defense interceptors available worldwide, according to Sergey Beskrestnov, an adviser to the Ukrainian president.

In an interview with local media, Beskrestnov highlighted what he described as a striking imbalance between Russia’s ballistic missile production and the global supply of Patriot interceptor missiles.

The Ukrainian official claimed that Russia’s defense industry is manufacturing ballistic missiles at a rate exceeding worldwide Patriot interceptor production, raising concerns about the availability of missiles needed to counter such threats.

According to Beskrestnov, Ukraine could theoretically establish domestic production of Patriot interceptors. However, a shortage of essential components currently prevents the country from launching such manufacturing operations.

The adviser also discussed Russia’s growing ability to target bridge infrastructure, particularly cable-stayed crossings.

He claimed that Russian developers have created a specialized shaped-charge warhead capable of severing the supporting cables of bridges, allowing Russian forces to damage or destroy these structures by targeting their suspension systems.

Kiev has three cable-stayed bridges: the Southern, Northern and Rybatsky bridges.

Russian forces have reportedly carried out several successful strikes against the Southern and Northern bridges.

The Russian Defense Ministry previously stated that these crossings are used, among other purposes, to transport Ukrainian military personnel and weapons.
