North Korea has released footage of a new attack drone destroying a replica of an American Abrams tank. The strike was featured at the Development of Unmanned Aviation Technology 2026 exhibition in Pyongyang. According to Army Recognition, the demonstration may have been intended to send a message to Washington and Seoul.

The Abrams replica was not the only target. Visitors also saw footage of drone attacks on detailed mock-ups of a South Korean K9 self-propelled howitzer, a counter-battery radar and a fortified position. The display highlighted the types of military targets selected for the demonstration.

The tank was destroyed by a loitering munition equipped with distinctive X-shaped wings. Its appearance closely resembles Russia’s Izdeliye-51, an unmanned weapon associated with the Lancet system.

Army Recognition suggested that the selection of targets was deliberate. The publication’s author argued that North Korean forces may have been using the demonstration to illustrate the potential of their drones to strike American and South Korean facilities.

The exhibition also featured other unmanned aircraft developed by North Korea. Earlier, the Korean Central News Agency released footage showing various FPV drones, loitering munitions and a low-observable jet-powered UAV presented at the event in Pyongyang.
