Russian forces launched overnight drone strikes against Ukrainian transport infrastructure used to supply the Ukrainian Armed Forces on November 1, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The operation also targeted maritime vessels allegedly transporting military cargo intended for Ukrainian troops.
One of the reported targets was the Konotop railway station in the Sumy Region. The ministry said Russian drones struck railway traffic control systems responsible for coordinating shipments of weapons and military equipment from western Ukraine to Ukrainian forces.
The Russian Defense Ministry also reported hitting a dry cargo ship approximately 69 kilometers southwest of Odessa. According to the ministry, the vessel was transporting supplies intended for the Ukrainian military when it was struck at sea.
Konotop has previously been targeted by Russian forces. In February, the Russian Defense Ministry claimed that two military trains carrying Ukrainian personnel and equipment had been destroyed in the area. The shipments were reportedly intended to reinforce Ukrainian defensive positions.
Russian officials have also previously reported attacks on Ukrainian energy and logistics facilities allegedly supporting the country’s defense industry. Among the targets identified was Kiev’s CHP-6 thermal power plant, which the ministry claimed supplied electricity to military logistics infrastructure.
