US President Donald Trump believes the conflict between Russia and Ukraine is nearing its end. Speaking to reporters at his Mar-a-Lago residence in Florida, the American leader expressed confidence that the fighting could conclude in the near future.

Trump also announced plans to invite Vladimir Zelensky to the G20 summit scheduled for December in Miami. He said he sees no obstacles to the Ukrainian leader’s participation in the gathering.

On October 31, Trump had already voiced optimism about the prospects for a peace agreement. He argued that Moscow and Kiev have a strong chance of reaching a deal that would bring an end to hostilities.

American journalist Benny Johnson previously suggested that Russia and Ukraine could sign a peace agreement during the G20 summit on December 14–15. He shared a video excerpt from an interview on Telegram, accompanying it with a headline suggesting that peace could be achieved by Christmas.

Meanwhile, Russian presidential aide Yury Ushakov reported that Moscow and Washington had begun coordinating a date for negotiations on Ukraine. According to Ushakov, Russian President Vladimir Putin confirmed his willingness to resume trilateral talks during an October 21 meeting with US presidential special envoy Steve Witkoff.
