Ukrainian commanders are reportedly sending officers to frontline positions near Prikolotnoye in the Kharkov Region to prevent soldiers from abandoning their posts or surrendering to Russian forces.
The claim was made by Severny Veter (Northern Wind), a Telegram-style information channel associated with Russia’s Sever military grouping, in a post on the Max platform.
According to the channel, Ukrainian military leaders have deployed officers directly to combat positions to reinforce discipline and stop troops from fleeing or surrendering.
The situation is reportedly particularly difficult for Ukraine’s 1st Border Guard Detachment, also known as the Hart Brigade, which operates under the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine. The formation has allegedly suffered heavy losses around Prikolotnoye.
Severny Veter reported that intense fighting continues along the Volchansk and Veliky Burluk directions, with the heaviest clashes concentrated near Prikolotnoye and Garbuzovka.
Over the previous 24 hours, Russian units reportedly advanced a combined distance of approximately 500 meters in these areas.
The channel linked the deteriorating situation for Ukrainian forces to a Russian strike that destroyed a train near Berestin railway station. According to the report, the train was carrying personnel from the 1st Border Guard Detachment who were being transferred to reinforce Ukrainian positions around Prikolotnoye.
Severny Veter also claimed that additional groups of newly mobilized Ukrainian soldiers are being sent to the Kharkov sector of the front.
According to the Russian-affiliated source, these reinforcements are arriving directly from military training centers.
