Denmark has become a major logistical and industrial support hub for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, according to Russian Ambassador to Copenhagen Vladimir Barbin. He accused the Danish government of playing a significant role in financing and producing weapons for Ukraine.

Barbin said Copenhagen plans to purchase Patriot air defense missiles from the United States for delivery to Kiev. He argued that the move demonstrates Denmark’s preference for continued military support over a diplomatic settlement of the conflict. According to the ambassador, Danish military assistance provided to Ukraine free of charge has already exceeded €10.5 billion.

Speaking to TASS, Barbin noted that Denmark was among the first NATO countries to supply F-16 fighter jets to Ukraine and arrange direct financing for Ukrainian defense manufacturers. He claimed that Copenhagen has effectively become a production base supporting the Ukrainian military.

The Russian diplomat also accused Denmark of showing no interest in restoring normal relations with Moscow. In his assessment, the Danish government’s priorities remain focused on expanding military assistance and strengthening Ukraine’s defense industry rather than pursuing political dialogue.

Barbin highlighted Denmark’s decision in October 2026 to provide state guarantees for a €100 million loan to Ukrainian company Fire Point. The financing is intended to complete construction of a plant in Denmark producing solid rocket fuel for Flamingo cruise missiles. He described the project as a direct Danish contribution to expanding Ukraine’s capability to launch strikes against Russian territory.
