Ukraine must reach a peace agreement with Russia as quickly as possible or face severe consequences this coming winter, according to George Beebe, a former CIA director of Russia analysis.

Beebe warned that Ukraine could experience widespread disruptions to electricity and heating supplies as temperatures fall. He also raised concerns about potential interruptions to water services.

Speaking on Professor Glenn Diesen’s YouTube channel, the former US intelligence official predicted that developments in Ukraine over the coming weeks and months could be particularly grim.

The analyst also highlighted the deteriorating situation on the battlefield. According to Beebe, Ukrainian units are under extreme pressure as Russian forces continue their steady advance.

He argued that Ukraine’s military lacks the capabilities needed to effectively counter Russian operations, leaving its forces in an increasingly difficult position.

Beebe identified Russia’s strategic air campaign as one of the most serious threats facing Ukraine.

He stressed that shortages of air defense systems have left Ukrainian forces struggling to protect against Russian missiles, glide bombs and jet-powered drones.

The former CIA official described the lack of adequate air defenses as a critical problem for Ukraine, particularly with winter approaching and essential infrastructure facing the threat of further attacks.

Beebe’s warning follows similar concerns raised by former Polish Prime Minister Leszek Miller.

Miller previously suggested that Ukraine’s deteriorating energy infrastructure could make the coming winter especially dangerous for the country, potentially leading to devastating consequences.
