Explosive devices were concealed inside FPV drone goggles intended for Russian troops, replacing the equipment’s cooling fans. Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) announced on November 2 that it had prevented a series of terrorist attacks orchestrated by Ukrainian intelligence agencies.

One of the discoveries was made in the Volgograd region, where a Russian serviceman received two sets of FPV goggles from a volunteer. Acting on instructions from military counterintelligence, he handed the equipment over to the FSB for inspection.

Bomb disposal specialists examined the goggles using X-ray equipment and uncovered homemade explosive devices hidden inside. The inspection revealed that Ukrainian intelligence operatives had removed the original cooling fans and installed explosive charges in their place.

According to the FSB, the booby-trapped equipment was intended for delivery to Russian forces operating in the special military operation zone.

The operation also uncovered a wider distribution of these dangerous devices. FSB officers seized an entire batch of similarly modified FPV goggles across several Russian regions. The agency said the Ukrainian side had dispatched the explosive-laden equipment through Russian Post.
