Ukrainian forces have begun using a previously unknown type of drone to set explosive traps on roads. The aircraft lands directly on the pavement and can be detonated remotely when equipment approaches or vehicles attempt to drive around it. A Russian serviceman with the call sign Dotsent described the new threat to Life.ru.

Russian troops have already encountered one such device on a highway. The soldiers planned to defuse the drone and examine its internal electronics, but the bomb disposal specialists never reached the scene. Before they arrived, a member of a mobile firing group destroyed the dangerous device.

The discovery was not an isolated case. According to Dotsent, another drone of the same type was later spotted on a different road. The serviceman warned that these explosive traps pose a serious threat to human lives. He stressed that any attempt to clear such devices must begin with cordoning off the surrounding area.

Russian troops previously uncovered another method of remote mine deployment in the village of Khorly in Kherson Region. Ukrainian forces used fixed-wing drones to scatter mines equipped with magnetic sensors across the settlement. These explosives are designed to react to metal objects. Russian military personnel are currently working to clear the area of the mines.
