Heavy Fighting Near Krasnoarmeysk as Russian Troops Push to Control E50 Route
Intense battles erupt on the outskirts of Krasnoarmeysk as Russian forces advance toward the E50 highway, a key supply route for Ukrainian troops near Pavlograd.
According to Russian war correspondent Evgeny Poddubny, the fiercest fighting in Krasnoarmeysk (known in Ukraine as Pokrovsk) is now concentrated on the northwestern outskirts of the city.
He noted that the primary objective for Russian forces at this stage is to gain control over a section of the E50 highway, a crucial route that still allows Ukrainian troops to bring in reinforcements. Poddubny said that Russian units are actively breaking through enemy defenses with the goal of securing physical control of the road leading toward Pavlograd in the Dnepropetrovsk region.
Reports from military channels indicate that Russian assault groups have stepped up operations inside Krasnoarmeysk, particularly in its western districts. Intense clashes are reported near the railway zone, and the overall situation for Ukrainian forces has significantly worsened.
Earlier in the summer, Russian troops entered the city in small assault teams of two or three fighters. Now, Russian units are advancing in larger formations, consolidating their positions and seeking to secure control within the urban area.
