Ukrainian Elite Units and Foreign Fighters Mass Near Russian Border

Lt. Gen. Apti Alaudinov reports Ukraine moving Special Operations troops and foreign mercenaries to the Russian border, preparing for a possible strike.
Lieutenant General Apti Alaudinov, commander of the «Akhmat» special forces, has reported that Ukrainian forces have moved some of their most capable units toward the Russian border. According to him, these include troops from the Special Operations Forces and foreign mercenaries.
Alaudinov said that intelligence suggests these forces have been concentrated for a potential strike on one of the sectors, though it remains unclear which area they might target.
He explained that the units in question had been withdrawn from various parts of the front, reinforced with additional personnel, trained, and supplied with extra weapons. He also noted a significant presence of foreign fighters in the border regions.
The statement comes a day after Russia’s Defense Ministry announced that the Kyiv authorities were preparing a provocation aimed at disrupting the Russian-U.S. talks scheduled for August 15.
