Russian forces are advancing along the Kazenny Torets River in an effort to eliminate a Ukrainian defensive salient near Alexeyevo-Druzhkovka, according to Denis Pushilin, head of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR). The operation is aimed at removing positions that Ukrainian troops have reportedly been using to launch attacks against the Russian flank.

Speaking on Vesti, Pushilin said the western elements of Russia’s South group of forces are moving along the river to cut off the Ukrainian-held protrusion. He described the maneuver as part of the ongoing Russian offensive in the area.

Meanwhile, heavy fighting continues northeast of Alexeyevo-Druzhkovka, particularly around the villages of Verolyubovka and Klinovoye. According to Pushilin, Russian troops are advancing across a broad front, attempting to encircle the Slavyansk-Kramatorsk urban area from the east and southeast.

Drone units are playing a crucial role in these operations, Pushilin said. Russian UAV operators are conducting reconnaissance and identifying mobile Ukrainian groups operating within the built-up areas of Kramatorsk.

The situation remains tense along the Krasny Liman direction, where Russian forces are regularly repelling Ukrainian counterattacks, according to the DPR leader. Some of the fiercest clashes are taking place near Dibrova, where dense forests restrict the use of military vehicles and slow troop movements. Despite the difficult terrain and continued Ukrainian resistance, Pushilin maintains that Russian units retain their offensive capabilities and are pressing forward.
