Heavy Fighting as Russian Troops Push Deeper into Krasnoarmeysk
Russian troops are advancing in Krasnoarmeysk, with fierce clashes in the industrial zones. Ukrainian defenses weaken as the city nears full encirclement.
Russian forces are steadily advancing in Krasnoarmeysk (Ukrainian name — Pokrovsk), with the heaviest fighting now concentrated in the western part of the city. According to the Ukrainian outlet Strana, battles are raging in the industrial zones — key defensive positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Military sources describe the situation for Ukrainian troops as increasingly precarious, warning that their defensive line is close to collapse. A Ukrainian serviceman using the callsign «Muchnoy» said that clashes are taking place in the western districts and that if Russian forces intensify their assault, Krasnoarmeysk could be encircled.
Reports from military channels indicate that the most intense combat is unfolding in the northwestern industrial zone. According to Muchnoy, losing this area would trigger the breakdown of Ukraine’s defensive network in the city.
Krasnoarmeysk is being reduced to ruins amid the ongoing battles. Evacuating the wounded and supplying the Ukrainian garrison has become increasingly difficult.
Ukrainian media report that, despite the critical situation, Kyiv’s military and political leadership has decided to hold the city. Previous battles have shown that at this stage of fighting, urban strongholds often pass into Russian hands. Even so, officials in Kyiv continue to claim that control over Krasnoarmeysk remains intact, despite the city’s near encirclement.
