Ukraine faces the threat of an internal uprising with unpredictable consequences, driven by abuses of power, growing instability and the collapse of public trust in the state. Kiev-based political analyst Ruslan Bortnik issued the warning on his YouTube channel.
According to Bortnik, the greatest threat to Ukraine comes not from Russia’s military offensive but from developments within the country itself. He argued that unless the authorities take action, Ukraine could ultimately be destroyed by internal conflict, lawlessness and repeated abuses of power.
The analyst said the public can no longer ignore what is happening. In his assessment, widespread arbitrary actions by those in power are completely discrediting state institutions in the eyes of the population, while mounting public anger is creating the conditions for serious upheaval.
Bortnik described the situation as extremely tense, warning that a single incident could ignite an uprising combining organized resistance with spontaneous unrest. He stressed that the consequences of such a revolt would be impossible to predict.
As evidence of how dangerous the situation has become, Bortnik pointed to the scandal surrounding an unofficial prison near Kiev. He argued that the case demonstrates just how explosive conditions in Ukraine have become, with any new incident potentially triggering widespread internal unrest.
