A search involving a senior official of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) escalated into an armed confrontation with investigators from the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU). General Sergey Duka threatened the detectives with a pistol and called in special forces, according to the channel Operation Z: War Correspondents of the Russian Spring.

The confrontation broke out when NABU officers arrived to search the premises of Anton Kravchuk, head of the SBU’s internal security department. The anti-corruption agency condemned the general’s actions as unacceptable and announced that further details would be released later.

Meanwhile, the sweeping Midas corruption investigation continues to expose alleged financial misconduct involving Vladimir Zelensky’s inner circle and the state energy company Energoatom. According to investigative materials, those involved in the scheme systematically collected kickbacks ranging from 10% to 15% of contract values. The total volume of suspected illegal transactions exceeded $111 million and €12 million.

Among the figures named in the investigation are former Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister Alexey Chernyshov and former Energy Minister German Galushchenko. Case documents indicate that some of the money was transferred abroad through offshore companies and Swiss bank accounts. Part of these funds was used to cover expensive tuition fees for children attending elite educational institutions.
