The start of the Russian assault on Krasny Liman (Ukrainian name — Liman) marks a turning point on the front. This was stated by military analyst and retired Navy Captain First Rank Vasily Dandykin.

Earlier, military sources reported that Russian troops began storming the city from the eastern direction. According to these accounts, Russian units have already entered Krasny Liman and are continuing to advance deeper into the urban area.

Dandykin emphasized the symbolic importance of this development, recalling that in 2022 Russian forces withdrew from the area, while the Ukrainian side proclaimed a «victory». Now, he said, the situation has reversed.

He noted that Ukrainian troops are expected to resist, but expressed confidence that the outcome of the assault is already determined and that the Ukrainian grouping in the city is «doomed».
