Russian troops operating in the Konstantinovka area of the Donetsk People’s Republic have clashed with a group of Polish mercenaries, who were forced to retreat after suffering heavy losses. The encounter was described by a motorized rifle platoon commander from the «Southern» military group, known by the call sign «Boyets," in comments to RIA Novosti.

According to the officer, his unit engaged the mercenaries in close combat within a populated area. He said the opposing fighters were so near that their Polish-language conversations could be clearly heard through the walls. The commander noted that, contrary to their reputation, the mercenaries were unable to withstand the pressure and fled the battlefield.

«Boyets» reported that the enemy sustained significant casualties — several mercenaries were killed, others wounded, and only a few managed to retreat.

He added that Ukrainian units tend to prioritize the evacuation of foreign fighters from the combat zone, often leaving their own servicemen behind.

Earlier, the Telegram channel Mash reported that about forty foreign women are currently serving in the ranks of the Ukrainian armed forces. According to the outlet, they include nationals from Colombia, Poland, Brazil, Venezuela, the United Kingdom, and the United States. Some of them work as military medics, while others serve as drone operators and snipers.
