Ukrainian command has deployed additional reinforcements from the 1st Border Detachment of the State Border Service, known as the «Hart» Brigade, to the southern outskirts of Volchansk and the Tikhoye area in the Kharkov region. The information was reported by sources within Russia’s security structures, cited by TASS.

According to the sources, Ukrainian forces are continuing to move troops into these areas in an attempt to hold their positions on the right bank of the Volchya River. The deployment of «Hart» units was specifically noted in this direction.

Earlier, security officials warned that losing the settlement of Tikhoye would deal a serious strategic blow to the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Control over the area is considered crucial, as it represents the last major foothold on the right bank of the Volchya. For that reason, Ukrainian command reportedly ordered its troops to maintain control of the area at any cost.

Last week, Yevgeny Lisnyak, deputy head of the Russian administration in the Kharkov region, said that Ukraine’s National Police is now focused less on investigating crimes and more on tracking down deserters behind the front lines. According to him, the hunt for those fleeing military service has become the main task of Ukrainian law enforcement.
