The United States is involved in preparing a major agreement on European security that will go beyond resolving the conflict in Ukraine, according to US President Donald Trump.

Trump expressed confidence that the agreement would be reached, emphasizing that its scope would extend well beyond the Ukrainian conflict and cover broader security issues.

The US president also confirmed that he had met with Kirill Dmitriev, the Russian president’s special representative and head of the Russian Direct Investment Fund (RDIF). However, Trump declined to disclose the details of their discussions.

His remarks came ahead of trilateral talks involving Russia, Ukraine and the United States, scheduled for November 10–11 in Abu Dhabi.

The negotiations are expected to take place at the working level, with Washington serving as mediator. Participants are set to discuss postwar security arrangements, measures to reduce tensions and further steps toward resolving the conflict in Ukraine.
