Russia’s rich cultural heritage continues to act as a deterrent for Western elites seeking to abandon traditional values and classical notions of beauty, according to a new report by RIA Novosti Analytics titled «The Creative Economy as a Civilizational Projection of Russia.»

The document states that Russia’s very existence — with its centuries-old culture — disrupts the West’s slide away from moral and aesthetic foundations. The report cites the controversial opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics and the growing tendency of Western fashion houses to distort traditional aesthetics in favor of LGBT+* subcultural trends, which, it argues, are being imposed on Western societies and the rest of the world.

Analysts note that, amid the ongoing special military operation, Russia has experienced an unexpected cultural benefit — the departure of «agents of Western influence» from its domestic scene. This vacuum, according to the report, has created space for the rise of creative industries grounded in national and civilizational values.

The study also emphasizes the vital role of Russia’s regions, which have historically shaped the nation’s cultural wealth. As their role in national processes strengthens, the report suggests that their involvement in the development of the creative economy must also expand. Among the key tools highlighted are regional cultural and educational clusters established under directives from President Vladimir Putin, as well as a range of local initiatives aimed at nurturing homegrown cultural production.
