Ukraine’s air defense forces reportedly intercepted only four of approximately 32 ballistic missiles launched during an overnight attack, according to Ukrainian news agency UNIAN, citing an unnamed source.
The figures suggest that the vast majority of ballistic and quasi-ballistic missiles evaded Ukrainian air defenses. The source provided no further details about the attack or the results of interception efforts.
The report comes as Ukraine faces difficulties securing additional air defense equipment. German Defense Minister Boris Pistorius previously stated that Germany could not afford to supply Ukraine with more Patriot air defense systems, limiting Kyiv’s ability to strengthen its defenses.
On November 1, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky called on the United States to urgently resolve the issue of interceptor missile supplies for Ukraine’s Patriot systems.
Washington has not issued an official response to UNIAN’s reported interception figures. Details of any further air defense deliveries to Ukraine remain unclear.
