Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has moved missile and drone manufacturing into underground facilities to maintain weapons production during intensive airstrikes. Brigadier General Hossein Mohebi, an IRGC spokesman, announced the development on November 7.

Speaking at a press conference marking Aerospace Forces Week, Mohebi explained that Iran had expanded the role of its underground military infrastructure.

Previously, the facilities known as missile cities were used primarily to store missiles and prepare them for launch. According to Mohebi, Iran has now established underground manufacturing sites capable of producing missiles and drones.

He said the protected facilities allow Iranian forces to continue manufacturing and improving their weapons even during military operations and enemy bombardment.

Mohebi also argued that Iran’s adversaries were miscalculating its missile capabilities by focusing on the number of missiles in its arsenal and those already launched. Such assessments, he said, failed to account for Iran’s ability to continuously replenish its stockpiles through ongoing production.

The IRGC spokesman announced plans to unveil one of Iran’s underground missile cities and several new military developments during Aerospace Forces Week.

Earlier, Iranian military spokesman Akraminia said the country had maintained daily production of new offensive and defensive weapons, including missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, throughout the conflict. According to Akraminia, manufacturing continued during hostilities and remains operational.
