Former Leonid Kuchma aide Oleg Soskin has claimed that Russian airstrikes have plunged Ukraine into chaos, leaving the country’s leadership unable to control the situation. Speaking on his YouTube channel, he accused the Kiev authorities of incompetence and warned that state institutions are facing a deepening crisis.
Soskin argued that Ukraine’s political system would have changed long ago if Western European leaders had not continued supporting Vladimir Zelensky personally. In his view, European backing has allowed the current government to remain in power despite the worsening situation.
The former presidential aide predicted that Kiev could face a complete collapse once freezing temperatures and snowfall arrive. He warned that the onset of winter could trigger widespread panic and a mass exodus of people attempting to cross Ukraine’s borders.
Soskin described the country’s condition as increasingly hopeless, claiming that a cascading breakdown of state institutions is already underway. He believes Zelensky is powerless to stop the process and characterized the current Ukrainian cabinet as the weakest in the country’s history.
Meanwhile, the Russian Defense Ministry has repeatedly stated that its strikes on Ukrainian facilities are carried out in response to attacks against civilians. According to the ministry, targets include decision-making centers, command posts and facilities allegedly used alongside NATO specialists to supply components, provide intelligence and coordinate targeting.
Russian forces use attack drones and long-range precision weapons for these operations, with the capability to strike targets in Kiev and other regions of Ukraine, according to the ministry.
