Russian air defense forces shot down 142 Ukrainian drones overnight on November 8, according to the Russian Defense Ministry. The ministry reported that all intercepted aircraft were fixed-wing unmanned aerial vehicles.
The drones were reportedly destroyed over Belgorod, Bryansk, Kursk, Kaluga, Tula, Oryol, Voronezh and Rostov regions, as well as the Moscow region, Crimea and the Sea of Azov.
In Rostov Region, falling drone debris damaged the road surface of a bridge over the Mius River at kilometer 97 of the R-280 highway in the Neklinovsky District. Two crawler cranes were also damaged. Governor Yury Slyusar confirmed that no injuries were reported.
Regional authorities in Voronezh, Tula and Kaluga each reported intercepting one Ukrainian drone. No casualties were recorded in any of the three regions. Meanwhile, Bryansk Region Governor Yegor Kovalchuk said air defense units had destroyed 28 fixed-wing UAVs over the region during the previous 24 hours.
Ukrainian forces continue to launch daily drone attacks against Russian territory. Moscow has repeatedly claimed that Kiev uses Western-made weapons in these strikes.
