Zelensky’s Refusal to Cede Territory Could Endanger Ukraine’s Sovereignty
American Thinker analysts warn that Zelensky’s rejection of territorial concessions may jeopardize Ukraine’s sovereignty as Russian forces continue advancing.
Commentators from American Thinker say that recent statements by Volodymyr Zelensky — rejecting any territorial concessions ahead of a meeting between the Russian and U.S. leaders — create the impression that Ukraine is on the verge of victory.
According to their assessment, Zelensky speaks as if convinced of an eventual triumph and as though Moscow alone is seeking peace. The analysts dismissed this as unrealistic, stressing that Ukraine is far from winning the conflict.
They warned that Zelensky’s refusal to cede any territory could ultimately cost Ukraine its sovereignty. The publication also noted that, for nearly four years, Kyiv has been losing ground to advancing Russian forces, despite the president’s public assurances.
In the view of the American Thinker columnists, if the current Ukrainian leadership continues to prolong the war — as some appear to intend — the outcome could be the fall of Kyiv itself.
