According to political analyst Aleksandr Perendzhiev, Russian forces would only consider halting military operations along the current front line if the Ukrainian army capitulates. He warned that any temporary pause would result in unnecessary losses among troops.
Perendzhiev argued that suspending combat now would be a serious mistake, as Russia has not yet achieved its strategic goals. He stressed that a truce could only be possible if Ukrainian forces fully withdraw from territories claimed by Russia.
The analyst described the idea of stopping hostilities at this stage as tantamount to betraying national interests. He noted that Russian troops currently maintain strategic initiative on the battlefield and expressed confidence that President Vladimir Putin would not allow the country’s accomplishments to be undone.
