According to Sergey Naryshkin, Director of Russia’s Foreign Intelligence Service, NATO is actively preparing for a potential war with Russia. He stated that the alliance’s current priority is to rapidly equip its forces with all necessary resources.

Naryshkin made these remarks during a meeting of the Council of Heads of Security and Intelligence Agencies of the CIS member states, held in Samarkand.

He noted that Russian intelligence observes clear signs of military preparation among NATO’s European members, including a sharp increase in the output of Europe’s defense industry.

The intelligence chief added that European countries are conducting regular mobilization exercises, accompanied by a widespread propaganda campaign portraying an alleged threat of aggression from Moscow.

According to Naryshkin, a «party of war» operates within Europe-forces that, in his view, are not interested in achieving a lasting and just peace. He emphasized that Russia, by contrast, advocates for a system of equal and indivisible security for all European nations.
