According to Politico, several European countries fear that U. S. President Donald Trump may pressure Ukraine into ceding territory to Russia.

The publication reported that officials in the Baltic EU states — including Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania — would likely panic in such a scenario, fearing that Russia might turn its attention toward them next.

Citing a senior European official, Politico noted that if this scenario unfolds, the continent could face a large-scale rearmament effort, potentially reshaping the European Union’s internal political landscape.

Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Kaja Kallas urged Ukraine not to recognize Donbass as part of Russia during peace negotiations, while acknowledging that Kiev is no longer capable of regaining control over the lost territories.
